#25 Attend a Concert at the Walmart AMP

The biggest amphitheater in the state of Arkansas is located right off I-49. There is signage leading to multiple parking lots all of which are provided at no cost to attendees. The Walmart AMP has a capacity of holding up to 11,000 attendees and has hosted major artists such as Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church and  The Foo Fighters. Live Nation is the official promoter for the concert series opening the season in May and going into late October.

The venue layout provides options for seating with varying price ranges. General admission gets you access to the lawn, a first come basis. It is recommended to bring a blanket or towel to sit on, no camping chairs allowed. This is the best option for large groups wanting to stay together and do not mind standing once the show starts. Seated tickets are under the pavilion and are chosen at time of purchase with an option for the VIP section that sits closer to the stage. For some concerts there is the option for the pit which is a first come basis and standing room only right in front of the stage. Wherever you choose to sit, you are assured great acoustics, lights, big screens displaying the show, and the possibility to meet new friends.

Before the show and in between performers be sure to check out the Tyson Concessions near the north and south plazas where you will find a variety of snacks and beverages. The Choctaw Plaza sits at the top of the lawn and houses an 80-foot bar, the longest bar in the state.

Aside from the concert series the venue also hosts community events. The July 4th Fireworks Spectacular is a celebration of America and patriotic tribute to the nation’s veterans. Before the show there is a Family Fun Festival in the parking lot that in the past had balloon artists, face painters, airbrush portrait artists, superhero pictures, lawn games, a S’mores Station, and much more at no cost to attendees. The SoNA symphony takes the stage before the fireworks display.

The Walmart AMP is walkable from restaurants and shops in the Pinnacle Hills area, Topgolf, and the Embassy Suites Northwest Arkansas. Walking from the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall and Village on the Creeks is also possible for those willing to walk the extra mile – literally.

Venue expansion was completed in the spring of 2020. Additional restrooms, Tyson Concession Stands, service windows, portable seats, a covered plaza over the lawn, an extended backstage area, and much more will provide the best possible experience to patrons and artists. Concert dates and performances are added to the schedule sporadically leading up to the start of the season in May and ending late October. Check their website periodically to be the first to know the newest headliners.
